The Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef in St. Thomas, USVI has been closed since the devastating hurricanes of 2017; reconstruction of the resort was suspended in March 2020 following the arrival of Covid but it is finally scheduled to finish by fall 2022 as Marriott’s Westin Brand. The property has 392 rooms, including 28 suites, six restaurants, and lounges; three ocean-view pools on an expansive pool deck with a pool bar and cabanas; a spa, a private dock & beach; shopping outlets, and meeting space. E-Finity got involved in the design and supply of the power generation solution to provide the hotel the power to guarantee the guests can have reliable power throughout their stay. A 2.4 MW power generation solution, comprised of 3x 800 kW liquified natural gas (LNG) fueled microturbine units, was selected to provide clean and reliable power to the Resort. Our proprietary mTIM controller will allow E-Finity to remotely monitor and troubleshoot not only the microturbines but also the switchgear of the hotel and allow to track the system performance throughout the 10-year term of our all-inclusive operating contract.
