Located in Couples Tower Isle, this all-inclusive beachfront resort required a reliable and efficient energy solution to support its continuous demand for electricity, cooling, and domestic hot water—critical to maintaining guest comfort and operational performance in a high-occupancy Caribbean environment.

The project, originally deployed by a previous distributor of Capstone Green Energy equipment in Jamaica, faced operational and reliability challenges that limited its effectiveness. E-Finity was brought in to assess, rehabilitate, and optimize the system, ultimately transforming it into a fully functional and dependable combined cooling, heat, and power (CCHP) solution.

The 800 kW system integrates microturbine-based power generation with a 200-ton, exhaust-fired double-effect absorption chiller and a 1 MMBtu/hr hot water generation module. This configuration enables the resort to simultaneously produce electricity, chilled water, and hot water from a single fuel source, maximizing overall system efficiency and significantly reducing reliance on grid electricity and conventional cooling systems.

Following E-Finity’s intervention, the system now supplies the majority of the resort’s electricity, air conditioning, and hot water requirements, ensuring consistent performance and improved energy reliability. The recovered thermal energy is effectively utilized to drive the absorption chiller and meet domestic hot water loads, delivering substantial operational savings while enhancing sustainability.

This project highlights E-Finity’s capability not only to design and deploy advanced energy systems, but also to diagnose, rehabilitate, and optimize underperforming assets—unlocking their full potential and delivering long-term value to hospitality clients operating in energy-constrained island markets.
