E-Finity supplied a 2 MW combined heat and power (CHP) plant for a private educational campus in central Pennsylvania, commissioned in 2025. The system delivers hot water for campus heating in the winter and feeds absorption chillers to produce chilled water for cooling in the summer, achieving high year-round thermal utilization. The CHP plant operates in parallel with the local PP&L distribution grid and exports surplus power under a virtual net metering agreement. In the event of a utility outage, the system automatically transitions to standalone island mode and provides emergency backup power to the entire campus. The installation has reduced the campus’s energy costs and lowered its overall carbon footprint.
