The Marine Corps Base in Quantico, VA is responsible for tasks such as developing strategies for Marine combat and pursuing equipment research and development for the Marine Corps. The FBI Academy, and the principal training facility for the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are also located on the base. E-Finity Distributed Generation was commissioned to install their microturbine technologies. A C1000 Turbine is used for demand response, running only a few hours per day to reduce the Base’s electric demand during peak periods. The turbine also provides critical power to the Base’s mess hall and dorms in the event of utility grid outages.
