The “Water Sector Resilience Nexus for Sustainability in Barbados” project was designed as a paradigm shift to make the Barbados society aware of the water cycle and climate change impacts threatening the island’s drinking water supply, create resilience to severe weather impacts, reduce greenhouse gas emission, reduce consumption, promote appropriate uses of diverse water sources and legislations to support climate smart development and water sector resilience. E-Finity got involved from the engineering and all the way through commissioning of a 2 MW natural gas fueled microturbine solution to be integrated in a microgrid to provide the resilience the solar photovoltaic system requires. The project, supported by the Caribbean Community Climate Change Center, is scheduled for commissioning on the first semester of 2023.
